UL and CBRE Reach Strategic Cooperation to Jointly Promote Healthy Buildings in China

During the 3rd Greenbuild International Conference, UL signed a strategic cooperation agreement with CB Richard Ellis (CBRE) – a global commercial real estate service provider, to jointly promote the development of China’s healthy buildings and help create a new green, healthy and sustainable building industry in China.

CB Richard Ellis Real Estate Management Technology and Sustainability Team provides customized one-stop solutions for all types of real estate projects (commercial complexes, office buildings, retail, office rentals, factories, schools, residences, etc.) in Greater China. Solutions range from design and operation, to renovation and upgrades, green and healthy building certification consulting services including LEED, China Green Building Evaluation Mark, WELL, Fitwel Certification Service, Building Energy Audit and System Enhancement Commissioning, and comprehensive real estate sustainable development management services.

The CBRE Real Estate Management Department helps companies manage asset portfolios globally to optimize operations, reduce costs, increase cash flow, and leverage strategic asset positioning through business platforms and technology innovations to achieve asset value enhancements.  Services include: engineering design review, property management, asset management, green building and sustainability services.

Through this cooperation, CBRE will work with UL to promote the comprehensive development of the Fitwel Healthy Building Certification System in China.  Fitwel is the leading global healthy building certification system dedicated to improving the health and sustainability of people, buildings and communities.  The Fitwel Healthy Building Certification System provides a wide range of tools for commercial real estate, residential properties and communities, and its advanced, proactively designed tools and assessment systems bring broader business opportunities to real estate developers while bringing a healthy and enjoyable experience to occupants.

As a strategic partner, UL will help CBRE join the Fitwel Champion Program and the Fitwel Advisory Council.  By joining the Fitwel Champion Program, CBRE customers’ verification process will be shortened by 25 percent. At the same time, higher quality and faster service will be provided. The CfAD professional team of Center for Active Design will quickly support and respond to customer needs.  By joining the Fitwel Advisory Council, CBRE is able to respond to customer feedback in a timely manner, helping the Fitwel Healthy Building Certification System meet local market needs.
