A partner of Fitwel Asia Advisory Council, UL, provided local support for the certification process.
As part of the global movement to create healthier, more sustainable buildings, safety science organization UL recognized M Moser’s Hong Kong office with a 3 Star Rating, the highest classification from Fitwel. This marks yet another milestone in the advancement of green building development in Asia. Fitwel’s Asia Advisory Council is a regional body and collaboration between the Center for Active Design, operator of Fitwel, UL and 30 companies across all sectors of the built environment.
Workplace design firm, M Moser is renowned for creating spaces that push the boundaries of wellness and sustainability. These high-performance, healthy work environments support employees and serve to test and integrate wellness concepts for global customers.
“We are thrilled to see M Moser lead by example, committing to the same healthy building principles for its own spaces as it encourages for clients. With a 3 Star Fitwel Rating, it demonstrates the value of green and healthy buildings for commercial real estate owners across Asia,” said Alberto Uggetti, vice president and general manager of UL’s environment and sustainability division.
UL’s expertise in the testing/certification of sustainable products and application to Fitwel and other green building programs, was instrumental in enabling M Moser to achieve its 3 Star Fitwel Rating.
Incorporating features such as ergonomic, versatile, volatile organic compound (VOC)-free materials and integrated biophilia to maximize comfort and indoor air quality, the office meets the needs of a variety of people and activities while supporting health and well-being. This impressive space has earned a number of green building and wellness certifications, including WELL Platinum, BEAM Plus Platinum, LEED Gold, RESET and TOS Champion.
“We embrace the opportunity to develop workplaces that empower our teams and demonstrate the value of designing green and healthy buildings focused on human health and planetary stewardship. The Fitwel Certification verifies our people-centric approach, supporting a diverse workforce, driving collaboration and facilitating a healthy lifestyle,” shared Christine Bruckner, Ph.D., director at M Moser Associates.
“M Moser’s Fitwel Certification demonstrates a commitment to furthering the healthy building movement in Asia, where we have continued to see a rapid uptake in Fitwel registrations over the past two years”, highlighted Joanna Frank, president and CEO of the Center for Active Design.
